Not one but three bubbles ran the Reading Half Marathon together yesterday. The sun put his hat on for spectators but forgot that made it a little tougher on us runners. On the other hand the course was a little easier than last year but there were still some pretty instead hills to climb en route and the long dual carriage way.
Scene set, I’ll tell you how it turned out! I managed to keep a steady pace right up until mile 12, a few run/walks till the end I crossed the line with a new PB of 2:26!
For Natalie, it was her first half. I caught her up around 8km and we ran together until just beyond the half way point. Each time I caught her up she sped ahead 😊. Natalie came in with a first timers PB of 2:38. That’s 7 minutes faster than we predicted! Well done Nats!
Papa Bubble did what I had planned. He wrapped up for the cold and got smacked in the face by sunshine. Still Nat finished the race with him and they crossed the line together at 2:38!
Super proud of all the bubbles!
Now on to Paris! 20 days to go!
