Project 35 | Day 115

After 25 years of following and starting to forget a band that I grew up with, I was extracted from London, taken to Birmingham and reunited with Take That!

Take That we the first band I ever saw in concert, on their first tour at Portsmouth Guildhall in 1991. I followed them religiously for many years, collecting their posters from Smash Hits magazine, transistioning from cassette to to CD with Babe in 1993 up to and beyond their comeback with their Circus tour in 2009.

In recent years however I have to say they’ve not really had them on a playlist of mine or listened with interest to their music. Is that a bad thing to say? (Louisa if you’re reading this I’m sorry 😁).

That said, my sister took me with her friends to their concert with…

What’s left of Take That – Gary Barlow’s words!

… And it was pretty good 😊.

Take That have always been show men and this concert was no exception. Japanese shadow puppets, an under the sea style set with sea urchins and jelly fish and a contemporary dance performance from Mark and Howard!

The songs that really got me back in the zone however were the oldies. Turns out I still remember the dance moves to ‘It only takes a minute’ 😉!
